Of course not!
Although some of the haters would gloat that it’s broken when it’s supposed to be invincible.
The damage is just superficial, four tiny plastic tabs have broken off so that the side cover doesn’t stay on anymore, which is pretty impressive when you know what this phone has been through. When I bought it, even I was sceptical that it would live upto it’s claims and survive my ownership but it’s got to be said, this is the toughest phone I’ve ever seen or heard of.
I’ve dropped it, kicked it, drop kicked it, stamped on it, got my friends to stamp on it, it’s been dunked in water, wine, beer and cider. I’ve thrown it onto buildings (Luckily it fell back down again), run it over with my bike, run it over with my car and dropped it into a tub of engine oil. I’ve challeneged bouncers to snap it, opened beer bottles with it and thrown it at a stack of chairs to knock them down. It’s flown out of my pocket almost every time I’ve been riding since I’ve owned it and I even put it in the freezer once, just to see if it would survive.
I’ve had the phone for 2 years now and it still works as well as the day I took it out of the box. Normally, if I don’t smash the screen on a phone the software goes all screwy to the point of being unusable but not with this phone.
EDIT: I forgot to say, the battery still lasts 4-5 days easily with normal use.
If you lead an active lifestyle and can’t have a nice smartphone, I’d highly reccomend this. Kudos to Samsung!
In celebration, here’s a pick of hundreds of photos I’ve taken with the beast.
Signing off for the night!
